Entering into His rest by looking unto Jesus Christ in 2013

There are blessings that will come to those that learn to trust God for everything, this year. How many of you know that 2013 is truly going to be a time to look unto Jesus for our spiritual growth and development? Jesus told the people whom He fed that they didn’t seek him because of the miracles they saw him do. They sought him because of the bread they ate and were filled. Labor not for the meat which perish, but for that meat which endure everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you; for Him has God the Father sealed. Even when they asked Jesus what shall they do to do the works of God? Notice what He said to them, “This is the work of God that ye believe on Him who He has sentâ€. (John 6:26-40)
The people of Jesus’ day thought that He was there for the here and now to serve them. However, He was not only there to meet their natural needs but He was also there to meet their spiritual needs. He was there to pull them to where He is. They limited Him because they didn’t realize that He had done so much more for them than what meets the eyes. He supernaturally had fed so many with so little and still had an unlimited supply left. Do we realize that if we are not careful, we can do the same thing that they had done? Missing God’s intention for the reason why He does things can cause us to truly miss our blessings of knowing Him as a limitless God. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by living also by the Word that God had spoken. The miracles He had done should have taken them out of the natural into the supernatural, where God is. We should have a spiritual awakening as God’s children to see that He is a miracle-working God. No efforts of the flesh could produce the miracle of feeding the five thousands as Jesus did.
Think about this, God wants to do miracles in our lives and in the lives of those around us to affirm that Heaven does exist and that He is Lord and King in the miracle-operating Kingdom. He is also the Savior of the World. Believing and trust in Jesus will cause us to see the bigger picture of life. It causes us to have great expectations of Him. It isn’t about the gifts, but the Gift-Giver, which is God. If we focus on the gift, we will not see the Gift-Giver as we should. In 2013, let Jesus Christ show us His glory, by looking at Him and by entering into His rest. He wants to be more to us than a meal ticket or as a way for us to get houses, cars, money and etc. We should look at Him as being the One that is able to give us an abundant life on Earth and an indescribable home with Him in Heaven. Let Jesus in your life today!
