Marriage: A Dance That Lasts a Lifetime!


Dancing is still an art that not too many people are able to grasp. The waltz is truly one of the most eloquent dances that a couple can enjoy. The melodies that are played during a dance can be romantic, exuberating, peaceful, and enjoyable to the couple who’s sharing in it. As a couple is waltzing hand in hand across the floor, they’re moving in total sequence of the music. Their spirit seems to move so freely that they’re envied by the novelist dancers as they follow the lead of one another.

Sometimes the dancing couples are laughing or talking about something as they smile at each other. There are other times when dancing couples appear to be upset with one another. They are pulling and jerking one another as though they are inexperienced dancers. Without God the arguing dancing couple might stop dancing and walk away from one another, thus they end the dance of a lifetime.
God plays the melodies that keep the couples in love and dancing for a lifetime. The winds of Heaven usher in the songs that the couples dance too. The man touches her hand as she touches his heart and vice versa. They begin to dance as though they are the only couple in the room. She wears her evening gown and he wears his tuxedo and they will dance as though they are floating on clouds and the Earth is their open field. No one is more in tune with God’s plan for their future than they are. They learn to pray together and they learn that even though trouble will come throughout their relationship, they will never forget the importance of not losing sight of each other. The woman follows her partner’s lead because his confidence is in God. He leads with gentle moves and motions for his wife to follow. Sometimes a couple might get tired or weary, and this is the time when the other companion takes up the slack and leads. The partner that is tired can lean on his or her partner until the mate is able to dance with confidence again. There are times when another couple on the dance floor tries to break-up their dance, but they never lose view of the eyes of their true love for one another.
When the dance is about to come to end, they dance a little slower, but they are still glad that they are together. When the final dance comes, they are grateful that God, through His Son, Jesus, gave them the opportunity to dance through this life as companions. They have grown to understand the true meaning of God’s love for them. They know that even though they are about to let go of each other’s hand while dancing on Earth is over, the one that’s left behind can now take God’s hand and let Him lead them while they are on Earth. God will take the hands of the one that was left behind and will dance with them all the way to Heaven where there is an orchestra and a room that is filled with worshippers and dancers for Him.
